Most decks are framed in green or KDHT pressure-treated lumber, installed while it still holds excess moisture. As it dries, it shrinks, twists, and moves — and the deck moves with it.
We standardize on KDAT.
Kiln-dried-after-treatment lumber is fully dried and professionally pre-stained before it's installed. The result is straighter, more stable framing that holds fasteners better, moves less over time, and looks clean and finished from day one.
The difference may not be obvious on paper. It becomes clear on site — and stays clear years later.
